Silver Embrace Vase

No single viewpoint seems complete. 

The sculptural silhouette first captures attention, but it's the silver-lustre surface that continues to reveal itself. It becomes more complex over time. 

Fine branching textures emerge gradually beneath changing light. Each angle brings a different relationship between openings, shadow, and surface, allowing the work to feel in constant conversation with its surroundings.

Part of Wu Jingwen’s Silver Lustre Series, these vessels combine pure silver overglaze with a second, lower-temperature firing. Silver gradually oxidises through time, developing a softer, more nuanced lustre unique to each piece. For Wu, the work is never entirely finished; time itself becomes part of the material. They are alive.
