My Garden Bowl

Some patterns describe a place. These marks feel more like memories of one.

Around the bowl, green brushstrokes drift against warm clay. Li Zhen's sketches feel more like fragments remembered after spending time outside – the leaves, stems and soil. The garden you tend to a little every day.

It's a bowl for everyday use, quietly collecting its own seasons alongside yours.

Part of the Garden series, with the maturing copper-green glazing experiment, the image begins to follow a set trajectory and takes on a more realistic sense of life.
