Field Tall Flared Neck Vase

A tall hand-built ceramic vase with a flared neck and a quiet, field-like surface of ochre, cream, and smoked brown. The proportions of this vase feel calm and grounded. 

Rather than decorating the form, the mineral slips become part of its structure, recalling sunlit earth, weathered stone, and layers of sediment. The longer you look, the more the colours begin to feel less painted than quietly unearthed. 

Part of Feng Zheyuan's Field Series, in which he explores the vessel through colour and structure: broad planes of mineral slip reshape the vessel into a quiet composition of surface, proportion, and space.
